Electro Mechanical Design Draftsman 

Job Overview

ATS develops a number of solutions for the photo enforcement industry.  We are looking for an individual to join our team and participate in design and drafting functions of our Design Engineering group.  This individual will work under the guidance of the Design Engineering Manager and will be responsible for 3D and 2D Cad designs and documentation in SolidWorks and AutoCad, Bills of Materials and helping with documentation requirements for our new Document Control change processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a AA degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting or higher and 5+ years experience in using SolidWorks and Document Control:
Candidate should have excellent analytical and problem solving skills and have a hands-on, "get it done" attitude. Candidate must understand drafting and documentation methodologies and processes and be a self starter.

Responsibilities
The position will support the development of new product designs for the company.

	With direction of the Manager, design new products and parts based on Market requirements.
	Knowledge of sheet metal, machined parts and injection molded plastic design.
	Provide design support for current and new projects.
	Help indentify and source external equipment or parts and services used in the companies designs and engineering efforts.
	Participate in the Document Control Change process and provide document changes as required.
	Provide technical support to the Manufacturing Group and other internal customers.

Experience Required

	5+ years experience with SolidWorks and document control processes.
	3+ years experience with AutoCad.
	Clear and effective written and verbal English communications skills

Core Competencies

	In-depth understanding of the mechanical design and development processes and methodologies including their documentation and creation.
	Experience generating 2D drawings from 3D design solutions in SolidWorks and AutoCad.
	Knowledge and experience with version control and ECN and ECO process.
	Ability to comprehend overall design vision.
	Able to work well with other team members.
	Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
	Must be a self starter able to work independently as well as part of the ATS team.
	Attention to detail.
	Must possess creative and analytical problem solving and exceptional technical skills.

Work Environment

Office environment located in the Scottsdale Airpark. Job does not require travel. Tasks will generally be completed sitting at a desk in the office working closely with other people.
