Senior Business Development Manager
Job Overview
The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new photo enforcement business for ATS. The expectation is that ATS will be the market share leader in the territory in which the salesperson actively sells company products. ATS should win the majority of all procurements. The salesperson will work through the long sales cycles to win and close the premier contracts. The salesperson will also cultivate opportunities to generate new demand for ATS’s solutions. Perseverance, follow-up, and relationship building are important as is multitasking because multiple opportunities needing to be cultivated simultaneously. An effective salesperson will have the ability to help the customer develop an understanding of how our products will benefit them. The salesperson will make his understanding tangible through directly influencing the customer’s RFP development process. The same holds true for displacing competitive, installed systems with our superior offerings.
Your sales territory will include the following regions: Northern Illinois and Ohio

Conduct onsite visits and client relationship development |

Communicating with senior management through regular communications |

Assist with key sales messages during preparation of company proposals |

Closing long term revenue contracts |

Ability to travel to meet customers |
 |
Comfortable networking with Mayor, City Council, Police Chief, Police Staff, Traffic Engineering, and Court Managers. |

Creating successful market strategies and mechanisms for the region in which the salesperson markets |
 |
Monthly reporting per Company documentation requirements |
 |
Participate in RFP development and sales documentation |
 |
Participation in sales conferences, exhibitions, or trade events to enhance Company profile |
 |
Compliance with Company policies and practices |
Job Requirements
 |
BS, BA or MS Degree |
 |
5+ years direct sales experience |
 |
Team player with an appropriate sense of urgency |
 |
Proven ability to close business |
 |
Strong oral and written communication skills |
 |
Deep facilitation, problem solving, consensus building and issue resolution skills |
 |
Experience working in the government arena |
 |
Comfort with online research, search engines and other primary research |
 |
Regular travel required |
 |
Significant experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, working knowledge of Windows, Visio, and rest of MS Office Suite |
